Engage

27 Sept 2025 (Sat)
2:30pm, House of Annetta
Event Duration: approx. 3 hours
Facilitator: Fedzilla

A creative writing workshop on writing as care, healing, and a creative act of resistance.

In light of recent civil resistance and the ongoing struggles faced by Hong Kong and East and Southeast Asian diaspora communities—including the trauma carried, the resilience built, and the need for spaces of restoration—this workshop offers writing as both healing and empowering practice.

In this writing session, open to all, rapper and poet Fedzilla walks you through prompts, ideas and personal experience in putting feelings of despair, anxiety and hope on paper. Via short stories, poetry, spoken word and more, you’ll be exploring the innate value of your stories and thoughts. We’ll dive into metaphors, opening lines, tone, repetition, rhyme and all the tools you may need to get comfortable on paper. However that may look for you.

We encourage everyone to join, participate and give it a try. There is no expectation to finish nor share with the group. Come find a space where you are supported and encouraged, we’d love to have you there.

Hosted by and presented in partnership with Bosla Arts.
