Cheung Chau Island. A-Cheung’s food stall Ri-Tai has been a staple of the fishing village, bartering good laughs and grilled seafood with customers between the tranquility and commotion of local life. He shares a close bond with loyal stall regular Plumpy, 40 years his junior, and the two have conversed leisurely over beer, cigarettes and Mahjong for a decade by the sea. But as of late, the pandemic washing over the city leaves the island deserted and the community questions whether Ri-Tai’s simple way of life will vanish.

Frankie Sin presents the warmth and daily life of his home island through his debut feature, winner of the Mecenat Award for Best Documentary at Busan International Film Festival. Also selected at Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, Another Home is a carefully crafted portrait of societal change, generational memory, and localities of daily life with a humble food stall at the centre of it all.
