Cheung Yuk Fan feels suffocated in Hong Kong after 2019. 2021 Summer, she resigns from her job as an arts administrator and rents a flat in a subdivided unit in an industrial building. She is determined to hide herself in this small world and start her own online trading business, forgetting about the distractions of the outside world. But one day, the beautiful sound of piano playing next door suddenly leads her into a realm of fantasy and illusion.

She is a freelance independent filmmaker. She has worked for various broadcasting organizations in Hong Kong, participated in various film festivals , arts and cultural programs in Hong Kong and Macau, and also participated in independent film production, distribution and promotion. In recent years, she has started his own filmmaking and has completed four independent short films, “by 3pm" as her latest short film.

The story was inspired by my true experience in 2021, after I moved into my new studio one day. There's always a beautiful sound of piano playing that comes from next door. All I could hear was the sound but have never met the person. One afternoon, when I was working, the piano started playing again next door, and the inspiration of this short story was like a flash of light that downloaded into my head. But at that time, I couldn't think of a way to finance the film. So I followed the approach as “A Rainy Night”, shot it in one day at one scene, and I got $500 from each of my friends to make the story at a very low cost.
